Jesse888's ek9 build thread

Yeah I've taken my lining out and use suction mount. Nice hiding technique with the sun visor lol
Wasn't very good video on the outside? Won't bother if its ****.

Doesn't look to bad. As you say mic issues. Mainly all wind noise.

Have you done much track stuff? if not watch yourself, standards were terrible at Spring Action day. full of 15 min heroes-JF may be similar..

Never been to Combe before. I've done enough days with idiots but will be carefull. On the novice session aswell!
Had some idiot at brands weaving down the backstretch in his xj220 nearly write me off. Caught it on film aswell lol

Shame you can't make it.
Like you say plenty of pics no doubt.
Want to mount a go pro to the splitter for a splitter cam on track lol

that'll be Sick dude !!!!!

Tama666 has got some awesome videos of a camera mounted on his splitter, ( at least i think its mounted on the splitter ? )

just tried to find them and failed :(

Looks good mate.

I like the headlight idea, considered that myself but since im going boost i wont need to anymroe :)

Well wont be bringing the splitter now. Doubt I'll make it on track either,
Brakes are still playing up! After a curtain pedal travel the wheel just locks and pedal stays down.
I've changed almost everything thinking that I'd solved the issue but have the brakes a go today and straight away locked up!
I'm fuming!

I had this issue when I first bought the car mate, asoon as the ABS kicks in the pedal would stay down and lock up. I **** myself nearly crashed!

I replaced the ABS pump when I put the B18 in and it cured it. Try another one (if you haven't already) as the one I put in was 2nd hand maybe that ones ****** aswell.

or

Remove the ABS altogether.

Removing abs altogether next month. Can't be fussed with fixing it. If anyone wants any abs related parts let me know.

So went to japfest, disabled the abs via the fuse worked nicely! So now I'll be taking the abs out altogether and getting rid for good!
Also fitted an oil cooler with mocal thermostat for those hot days at the ring!(hopefully)

At Bedford auto on the 15th July if anyone wants to come

Okay so this month I removed the centre silencer from the exhaust and replaced with a smaller one, abit more noise in the vtec now!
Removed the abs.
Haven't weighed it all yet but I've removed the pump, sensors and brackets and the fuse box. Will report back with the weight. My guess is 5kilo,

Tools and equipment used for the removal, can say the brake pedal feels a lot more direct.

Also fitted the oil cooler I got from Matt o with fresh oil and a hamp shortie

good progress jesse how you finding the cooler?

Think it works lol
Haven't really hit it hard. Most I've seen is 85 degrees so far.
When I filled the engine up with oil I put all 5litres in and over filled it by loads. Doesn't hold as much oil as I thought. Lol

Yeah had to open the sump plug again to let some out lol
For anyone wondering
4.75kg is the weight of what I've removed from the abs system, still got te ecu and whatever wires I can be arsed to remove.

Okay alittle update.
Went to another track day, did a morning session.
I just sold my a048's so had to do this track day on my road wheels, toyo t1r.
Here's a short clip of my fastest lap of the day, 1min flat.

So after that I met up with Matt o who wanted a dc2 air box for his aem v2, so we done the deal.

Looks pretty cool I think! Made the strut brace look very old so I'm in the process of cleaning that up as well, hence why it's missing.
Aem v2 has a huge filter on it! Barely fits in this space!
