Well after collecting all my old photos as well as most recent ones it is finally time to start my build thread :) and share my project so far :)
In all honesty i started out on the volkswagen scene :) and it wasnt until the last couple of years i started to enquire about buying my honda :) i always like to take on a project no matter what car i got and this is exactly what i did when i bough a 97 civic ej9 in 2009 and changed it from this :

Obviously being my first start to hondas i was quite proud of the changes i made, except from the lexus lights and angel lights :p However it was a start :)

However at the end of the day it was still a 1.4 so i decided to buy myself a civic jordan which had always been a car that i had an eye for due to its history and its appearance as well as reliablitly. I had looked for ages for the right one, however as my jordan enthusiasts will know they are hard to come by nowadays in good condition with low mileage and service history. However i hit the jackpot in january 2010 when i found one with 46000 miles, fhsh, one owner and completley standard the only down point was it was 550 miles away in kent :( However i was willing to travel to get the right one, so thats exactly what i did so i set off at 7 with martin(mld22) and went to go and collect it. However as many will know the joys of traveling to expect a mint car and being wrongly described :( Although the body work wasnt great and it looked more like a moldy banana the interior was immaculate and everything was as described with the advanatage of having no signs of rust at all :) I had got the car back to my dads garage and set myself a list or priorties :

1. Strip car down and see extent of damage to panels and underneath
2. get car fully undersealed before respray
3. get all the panels sorted as well as back panel straightened
4. give car a full repsray
5. new discs. pads all rounf
6. Brand new service

Although all was fairly straight forward i knew after inspecting the car it was mint underneath and with some work would be a great car for only £3300 :)

This is what the car looked like the day i started stripping it:

As you can see the car was in need of some tlc, so the work then began on the bodywork and repsray prep:

Once the respray was complete it was then time to get the car undersealed :

Build continued.......

Unfortunatley the boys that did my respray decided to have a field day on my painting materials and wing mirrors and did a runner with them :( Luckily enough i managed to source a set off the jordan forum :)

So heres how she looked after respray and all the work was done(minus the wing mirrors :p) :

I was extremely happy with the repsray and after a few months of getting to enjoy the car it was time for the real work to start in order to get it ready for japfest :) I had done the following upgrades:

1. Refurbed jordan alloys and wrapped them in toyo t1r's
2. Bought a buddy club spec 3 cat back system (gavin gav-ek9)
3. rear jdm tow hook in black(tegiwa imports)
4. 8k hid kit
5. refurb front lights
6. bought technix coilovers( not the best but were all i could afford with the short time left before japfest)
7. team heko wind deflectors
8. jdm fog lights in yellow
9. refurn rocker cover in yellow and black

With a week to go i managed to get all the work done that i had wanted to :) and the car was ready for japfest so heres some pics of the car and convoy to japfest:

Japfest was great and would highly recommend to all jap enthusiasts :) I was really pleased with how the car was looking and by end of August 2010 i decided to take the car off the road.

IT WAS TIME FOR A BIG CHANGE ;)

I had spoken to a few garages regarding doing my kswap and after lots of great advice and recommendations i chose to go with Mike and his team at R-motion in wales. I had been adiment on getting a k20a dc5 engine with low miles, and i was just lucky that mike had one in stock with 32000 miles which was perfect. We started to get a list of parts together and have gone with the following so far:

1. K20a dc5 engine
2. dss stage 2.9 axles s/h
3. bc shifter and cables
4. Hytech header
5. Custom stainless exhaust
6. Full width alloy radiator and spal fan
7. A3 cams
8. rbc intake
9. rbc throttle body
10. Kpro mapped ecu
11. Baffled sump
12. I have opted to shift the recessor into the tunnel
13. Kazz slip diff gearbox
14. 1998 dc2 subframe

There is still more parts to be finalized as well as pictures to come :)

I am taking the car down on the truck to mike on the 11th decmeber to get the work started and will hopefully be racing in it next year :)

As well as the engine i had stipped out the whole inside and decided to start aquiring new parts, the following is a list of parts aquired so far :

1. Ek9 spoiler (john j700ock)
2. 16" rota slipstreams with yokohma spec 2's
3. Arc Winglets (Mathew souter)
4. Black and yellow recaros with bride low seat rails (Arfan rascal69)
5. Ek9 steering wheel in black and yellow (Arfan rascal69)

I will update the list as aquire more parts.

As for now i am hoping to aquire a lot more parts for the car as well as plenty more engine parts :)

I hope u liked reading the thread and enjoy whats to come in 2011 :)

thanks

dan
