Thanks man! Hoping to pick it up on the 10th once everythings done.

Quick update, all new hardrace parts have arrived, car has been stripped down, all bushings and arms that needed replafed got replaced. Everything was nipped up and then the car went to autonek for an alignment. Once uts back it will get new front discs and ds2500 pads up front. Fluid flush with some race spec stuff and we are golden.

Fraser at japcom also gave me a crash course on tire fitting too so the part worn ao48s went onto a pair of te37s i got from andrew joyce.

Well thats the dc2 back from japcom basically ready to rock on track. Full alignment with the new hardrace parts at automek then i had the front discs and pads changed and the brake fluid changed to millers race stuff. Opted for pagid blank discs and the ds2500 pads i had purchased beforehand.

After the car got a final check over and the bill was paid i was on my way and the car feels fantastic!

I also tire chalked the track wheels, think ill re do the p1s too. Cant reccomend fraser enough for all the work hes done in this short time.

Finally getting the chance to give the teg its annual detail. Only a month later than usual. I like to give it a full decontamination and wax after its motd and then just foam wash and spray wax any time after that.

Usual formula, foam wash, iron fallout, de tar, clay bar then finish with colinite and rainx on the glass as im out of the H2go i usually use.

I also gave the car a good hoover out as its spent the winter being a climbing frame for my daughter the inside was full of garage dust. I never use interior finish because i hate the dash being shiny but i did use some apc on the steering wheel and door cards. I never got pics of the inside though.
I then decided to re do the tire writing on the p1s and try the te37s up front for the pending track day.

Not much left to do now, purchased a tool bag, got myself some octane booster as reccomended by @Vtec6000 due to the low quality fuel in ireland. Also got a spare couple litres of oil, spark plugs, oem honda dizzy cap and rotor and the oem pads recently removed from the car. Fingers crossed all goes well.

Im also taking over a b series rocker cover for @terry_em1 and a set of te37s for another lad.

Well, my hand has been forced and i need to do a job ive been avoiding for the longest time. Both my fog bulbs popped and while changing them the yellow cap fell off the housing into the headlight casing and theres no way of getting it out so i need to split them and im as well restoring them while im at it. Theres no chance im paying the current prices for dc2 headlights so any advice would be appreciated.

Wish me luck!

Progress...
Car up on axle stands, front bumper off then started on the headlights. I opted for the slowly slowly approach and used a heat gun and a couple of screwdrivers to pry the lenses off as there was a lot of hardware on the light i didnt want to put in an oven.

I then removed the exess residue from the lenses by heating and wiping with old rags then using high strength solvent cleaner to remove the rest, heat and a flat screw driver to clear the grooves on the casings so everything slots back together. Im also considering tinting the inner corner lense orange as ive seen a few dc2s with this mod and thought it looked cool.

Im half tempted to clean the front while its dismantled just for peace of mind.

While i had the car opened up and still time left i also chucked on this tegiwa brake stopped i got. Top tip, tegiwa have a sale on ebay so if you type in "tegiwa mega deals" then ek9/dc2/eg6 any sale items that fit your car will pop up i got this brake stopper for 22 quid posted.

More updates to come soon

Horrible splitting those light when you see how expensive they are
Are you removing the yellow glass or repairing it?

Im removing the yellow glass caps from both as the bulbs are yellow anyways. Im also painting the inner corner lenses with orange laquer to give the appearance of amber corners. Should all be back together this weekend all going well

Last night we got the lenses wet sanded and sprayed. What a difference in comparison to how yellow and stinky they looked before.

I opted for a uv rated clear coat from ebay called "monster colour diamond shine laquer" to try and keep the yellow at bay for as long as possible. I wont be splitting them again though so this is as good as they will ever be again

I also decided while everything was open to go for amber corners as ive seen them on a couple of dc2s now, i got the orange laquer on ebay its called "tamiya colour ts plastic spray".

Hoping it makes a big difference as they were really bad in hindisght

Heres a shot of the car at honda day recently. Ill post a picture in my next post once the car is assembled for a comparison.

The full process is being filmed for my youtube channel so i may as well plug it while im on here. Check it out, we will post a new vid every 2nd sunday at 8am.

Lenses look great. Going to nervously try this after watching your video!
You wet sanded the inside of the lenses also?
Think that’s where mine need doing. Used a refurb kit the other day and not much difference.

We compound polished them and that took away the burn marks from the xenons. Well worth it.
