Decent update this time. Had some free time after having my 2nd child with being on paternity leave so had a few hours in the garage. First job up was an exhaust change, i love the jap can and it will be back but i wanted that loud dry rasp. Half an hour and we have a zerofighter kanjo pipe fitted.

I then decided it was time for the shopping list and advan stickers to go so they came off along with almost every other sticker on the car. On the rear i got a new hiro racing sticker made up to give it a proper kanjo street team vibe. I refuse to run no good or temple because its insulting unless you buy genuine stickers.

During a night feed with my new baby i noticed the battlecraft gear knobs were on sale again so managed to whip one up before they sold out again and got it chucked in, i had one before but it was the smaller one. The large feels amazing in the hand and makes ths throw slightly less clunky which is nice.

Next up was my long awaited new set of wheels. I toyed with this idea for a while and decided just to go for it. A friend had bought some racingspirits stencils for a 15 inch tire so i borrowed them and got to work. Tires got de greased and force dried with a heat gun to allow the paint to stick properly. Its the tidiest i could get them unfortunately but i feel it adds character to them.

Lastly i removed the c west lip as im going to keep the car oem for the time being. The lip already has a new home too, next change is something different again but for now ill stay osaka style. Car badly needs lowered to close the arch gap, with these wheels being smaller and narrower than the advan rgs they shouldnt rub at all which will let me go lower without any issue. Lastly i mocked up the new verno sun strip, still to get it fitted properly next time im in the garage.
The advans are currently for sale on marketplace if anyone wants some mega cool wheels for their dc2/ek9.

Thats all for now, c&c welcome.

Well, ive finally took the plunge and booked a track day, hiro racing gun run on the 31st of may so the work begins to get it ready! First up koyorad and spoon hoses.
1000018065.jpg
1000018066.jpg

Old hoses and rad removed i then used a wetvac to get as much coolant out of everything as i could.
1000018067.jpg

Because of the ac fan thickness if you dont buy a slim fan you need to cut the shroud back slightly.

1000018071.jpg

Even at that i can see me getting a slim line one soon.

1000018072.jpg

After the rad and fans were in i plumbed up the spoon hoses and used jubilee clips instead of the factory ones. I then filled the radiator and gave the hoses a good squeeze, once there were no more bubbles I ran the car until the engine hit full temp and thermostat opened to fully bleed the system.

A quick wipe down and we are good as gold.

Also after running the teg at almost oem height since getting it i decided i wanted to go a bit lower, the arch gap since going for 15 inch wheels bothered me too so i shortened the front coilovers by 10mm and the rear by 15mm which gave me the exhact height i was looking for.

Currently waiting on a service kit and some ds2500 pads for the front and i need to re do the tire writing as i laid the paint too thick and it cracked when the tires flexed.

With the upcoming track day looming ive started getting paranoid about the car not making it home so i got some bits n bobs to try and ensure i stay on track and the car stays mechanically sound. So ive ordered a mugen baffled sump, some fuchs titan pro s 10w50 and some ds2500 pads. I also picked up some part worn semi slicks just to avoid driving home on bald tires so ill need to aquire at least a pair of spare wheels to run the ao48s on.

I recently decided im not a fan of the js racing strut brace on the car as its too blingy for my liking so the oem went back on, as id recently bought an ek4 jordan without strut brace nuts i bought new ones for the dc2 so i could use the old ones in the civic.

Im a sucker for the function over form look in my cars so the totally uneccessary bling had to go. Ill be booking the dc2 in with fraser at JAPCOM once the weather warms up for a nut n bolt check, mot, brake fluid upgrade and to fit the pads and sump i bought id usually do this myself but if its in for a penny its in for a pound.

Final cosmetic changes complete. Zerofighter front and rear tow hooks and a honda verno sun strip

Very happy with the new style. Basic simple changes just to get the vibe im looking for. Time will tell though, i might go further i might go back to oem. For now the osaka style is where im at with it.
hoping to get booked with japcom soon for some more gunrun prep and an mot.

Verno sunstrip and the tow hooks slap

Took the dc2 out for its first drive after winter and im not happy with some of the changes made the exhaust sounds badass but i cant posdibly take the kids out in the car and as amazing as the battlecraft knob is it sits too high so the throw of the shift is way too long and i refuse to buy a short shifter as i love the feel of the oem setup so took a few hours just to get the car better for weekend road driving, at the end of the day thats the main focus for the car.
1000020973.jpg

Car went up, zerofighter off.
1000020974.jpg
1000020975.jpg

Jap can back on.
1000020971.jpg

I also chucked on a new radio as the previous one was installed in the ek3 and sold. This ones a baddie though, bluetooth, usb, aux, apple/android compatible. And i routed up hands free too which is something i miss while driving the dc2.
1000020972.jpg

Had to butcher the centre console slightly to get it in though. Oem knob is also back in and staying in now too. Already got a buyer for the battlecraft and zerofighter too which is ideal.

Right, gun run prep is underway. The car went into japcom last week to get my to do list smashed out. First up was a mugen baffled sump. Fresh out the box with a new gasket, the spoon sump plug was kept for obvious reasons.

Afterwards it was onto a service, usually i use 5w40 oil but was advised to upgrade to 10w50 race oil to keep things spinning nicely. As usual a hamp filter was used and a set of bkr7e11 ngk plugs.
1000021935.jpg
1000021936.jpg
1000021939.jpg

Lastly it got a brand new oem honda fuel filter, something ive not done since buying the car so it was long overdue.
1000021940.jpg
1000021942.jpg

After the service it was put through an mot which it sailed with no issues. Fraser at japcom did state however that if im going on track the car would bennefit from almost a full re bush underneath so hes ordered up new front lower arm bushes, roll centre adjusters, track rod ends, drop links, rear trailing arm bushes along with front and rear adjustable camber arms and rear toe arms. I cant complain as ive had the car 3 years now and maintenance has been fairly minimal. Ill update with more pics once fraser sends them through as hes doing all of the work for me as it was in for the sump and mot anyways it just made sense.
