So I'm getting well into buying my K Series parts now.

So far I've bought -

- DC2 subframe, ARB, steering rack, lower arms & front suspension forks & all relevant bolts to fit
- AEM K-swap intake
- K20A2 Gearbox w/ MFactory helical LSD, carbon synchros & hardened synchro hubs
- DC5 passenger side driveshaft & EP3 drivers side driveshaft

Still need to buy -

- K20A2 engine w/ ancillaries
- Hondata KPro PRA ECU
- 36mm hubs, looking at 98 Spec DC2 hubs from R-Motion

These are things I have identified that I want to buy as my "K-Swap package" -

- K-Tuned conversion wiring harness
- K-Tuned 4-2-1 K-Swap header
- HASPORT K-Swap engine mounts 70A bushings
- K-Tuned shifter cables
- K-Tuned shifter box
- K-Tuned clutch line kit

As you can see, K-Tuned is my company of choice when it comes to swap parts. Mainly because their gear is widely available in the UK unlike Hybrid Racing & its also a little cheaper.

Other things that are a "maybe" currently are -

-Hybrid Racing power steering kit
- K20 EP3 pulley kit

These parts really, I don't know if they're necessary. I know I can run a DC5 power steering setup but this kit is pretty neat & I think it avoids bonnet cutting... As for the K20 pulley kit? What is that all about?

I'm also probably going to stick a new clutch & lightweight flywheel on too.

I've learned rapidly a lot about what is needed for this swap, turns out the EK9 is a pretty complicated little bugger to put the K20 into... but once it's done it will be so worth it!

Meanwhile I got busy today for some pre JapFest prep. Decided to give the 9 a thorough wash, take all the wheels off and deep clean everything to get rid of the winter grime!

Wheels cleaned using Bilberry wheel cleaner & IronX and sealed using GTechniq C5 wheel armour! The results are simply excellent! Still a couple of marks but a massive improvement. Only photo'd a couple of wheels Gave my coilovers a clean up and some WD40 as well!

Lastly I added a brand new set of Muteki wheel nuts to finish the job!

I thought I would mention this, you cannot use aftermarket wheel nuts on OEM wheels unless you have a conversion washer, as the nut will not seat into the wheel properly due to the different shape (OEM being acorn shaped and most aftermarket are tapered). Even then I wouldn't use aftermarket nuts on OEM wheels.

Thanks for the mention but I know, I've been running aftermarket nuts for about 2 years now with the wheels. Got the conical washers from Tegiwa. No problems at all to use a washer, it's the same thing.

Been a right busy bee!

I have now bought almost everything for my swap.

Bought a K20A2 from a 54 plate EP3 with 70k on the clock. Proven mileage too with history etc. That is being delivered tomorrow so I can get cracking on getting the cam cover airbrushed & painting the block etc. It's also coming with all ancillaries.

I've also bought pretty much all my swap parts from K-Tuned courtesy of FunkyPower. They all arrived yesterday & also my Karcepts 98 DC2 36mm hubs with ARP lugs and Koyo bearings.

I also got a nice Super90 70mm throttle body with adapter plate for an RBC manifold

Now just got to buy -
Mishimoto k swap rad & hoses
DC5 PAS pump
DC5 bottom pulley
DC5 high pressure hose
Hybrid Racing PAS kit
RBC intake manifold
Competition Clutch Stage 2

The K-Tuned gear is top notch! Even threw in a book on K-swaps worth $27 for free

If you don't mind me asking how much do you think it is going to cost you?

Depends what you buy really & if you do the work yourself. If you buy 2nd hand parts and utilise OEM parts a lot you will save cash.

I've done a bit of both but bought all brand spanking new swap parts and I'm not doing the work myself. I'm also being wire tucked so that's extra. Not sure on how much it's going to cost me but I don't have a budget so... Budget stretches as far as it needs for completion.

Do a bit of research if you're thinking about it, then you can get an idea on the sort of parts you're after and where you can save cash etc.
