Was the VXR your friends?
Nice video, me and my friend always wondered the differences between an ek9/dc2 VS an Astra VXR in a straight, since he is a Vauxhall lover :)

COME off your high horse will ya so your tellin me you've never raced i know people that track their cars and drag them and still might end up having the odd race against friends on an empty public road this is no Fast and Furious video its 2 friends on a 3 lane road havin a quick blast puttin nobody elses life in danger.

Just trying to offer a bit of advice.

Videos like this have been used to convict people if the long arm of the law get hold of them. We all have the odd bit of fun on the public highway from time to time, but then most of us dont record the event & try to pass it off as a "private road" when it blatantly isnt....

Now if Graham, heaven-forbid, was to have an accident & dangerous driving was suspected, the police have the ability to check internet forums & the type of posts people have made to use as evidence.....enough said really.

This is why this type of video is banned on the majority of owners clubs forums i know of....

Look He was only trying to advise you. I know exactly what he means. You sit there refering to it as your car and saying i beat him etc etc now it dosent take a genuis to see that your the guy in the video.

Just be carefull not to mention speeds etc if you do a vid.

No one ever expects to be caught and the law are cracking down on this kinda stuff more these days. They pay people to trawl the internet for possible evidence of crimes.

I am the same I will blast it up and down with mates and i know what you mean about whats the point of having it if you dont use it.

The best thing to do is make no reference to it being you or anyone you know etc becuase most people on here with half a brain can tell its your car but the Plod wont trouble you unless they have for example stated clearly its them driving etc etc.

Remember the Plod go after easy meat first.

P.s Fair play on wipping that astra bet he was happy lol. :)

An astra vxr will waste an ek9 and a dc2. A standard astra vxr will do a speedo 160mph.

Also how would they ever get convicted? People that think the police can do you from a tiny video where there is no speedos/regis/drivers faces etc are just gullable.

Plus am I the only person that see in the video that the astra pulls away from the civic?

few WORDs for all the ENGLISH lads graham is IRISH therefore the GARDAI would be the ones trying to prosecute him and they are completely useless compared to your competent police force i can safely say the only thing they would say is take that egggssshhhaussstss of the car please! cos shes awful loud!

@689r he pulled one car on me because he was straight on boost and i had a slight pause before vtec...as EVERYONE can see in the video he pulled a car on me and i start pulling back..in the ending seconds of the clip im bonnet to bonnet!

so 689r how is the astra pulling away?

Yer granted its hard to prove but whats the point in being ignorent. Sureley its better to cover your ass than flaunt the fact your breaking the law.

As for a Vxr doing that VTI heres a little math which will show you why he didnt own him.

VXR 237BHP from factory. Kerb weight 1230KG

VTI 205BHP Modified. Kerb weight 1100KG (est)

Power to weight ratio's =

VXR - 1230 / 1000 = 1.23T 237BHP / 1.23T = 192BHP per T

VTI - 1100 / 1000 = 1.1T 205BHP / 1.1T = 186BHP per T

6 BHP per T difference isnt much. Where as a standard VTI =

ST VTI = 1200 / 1000 = 1.2T (est) 166BHP / 1.2T = 138BHP per T

Easy meat for a VXR.

Anyway a B18 Civic is more about the corners thatn the straights and i gotta get some work done lol.

and it weights over 1200kg PROVEN when my cars was nct'd

(national car test) eg M.O.T


and its torque that wins a race and that car produces nearly 100ft/lb more than mine!

have you ever raced against one of those three cars? Let people that actually have do the talking. Maybe an ek9 gets wasted by the astra but it will be a close one against a teg. Astra`s are very heavy to begin with and their huge torque down low can`t really compensate for it.:drive:

A stock EK9 vs Astra with proper driver the astra would take it yes your right. I dont know about a teg but if its anything like a B18C EK9 it would beat it.

Ive beaten a couple now.
