I'm impressed with that video. car sounds good but dont think i could handle how loud it is!

I had an encounterin my standard EK9 with the older astra 2.0 turbo bertone a year back....
could hardly see him after a few tight uphill corners!!! hahaha!!
 
Well done mate, You have to remember, VXR's has 237bhp & 236.0 ft lbs.

As where B18's have 195bhp & 130.0 ft lbs! And it's only pulling away ever so slighty.

VXR's are nothing to you untill there in 3rd-4th gear. Before that there just a car what can't place all that power properly.

And imagine both on track! That's just another hole different outcome. :p

It's true. 200nm @ 2000rpm won't win the race. 200nm @ 8000rpm will. Same torque, different power. Rather have 150nm @ 8000rpm than 250nm @ 2000rpm.

But, the actual right saying is: high average horsepower wins races (and to keep that horsepower high average you need to keep torque at midrange and highrange rpm - VTEC y0!).

I've got a vid of an my ek9 vs a300 bhp vxr from 50 to three figs ek has decat,twinloop and header, closer than you might think...

Just to clarify, VXR's are not that quick, dam the amount of them of pulled past can barley count on 2 hands. Till about 130MPH i can beat it by a good 4 car lengths at least from a roll in 2nd gear and thats VXR's with exhaust/filters etc not completely stock. After 130MPH they start to make it back as they have more BHP which is what you need higher up. Not torque.

My car does have at least 200BHP though and weighs under 1000KG for sure. Makes sense.

Not sure why ive even bothered writing this. Just couldnt help myself.

Astra VXR's weigh 1390KG and have 237BHP. about 170BHP per tonne.
 
Nice vid. Closer than I thot. My mate has a vxr and i'm always winding him up saying my EK9s faster. Now i'm starting to fancy my chances lol The vxr's are rapid tho
