MY B18C EK vs ASTRA VXR/opc


1. The gardai cant prosecute anybody just on that video. It wouldn't even stand in court (no reg no.).. but could be used in conjuction with other evidence.

Iv been in a modified 98 spec as it was getting done it by a VXR from 100-140.

You not taking torque into account? Also you realise once the speed gets higher, the weigh of the car becomes far less important as the car is already rolling at a significant speed.


Also im talking motorway racing. From say 0-90/100 a b18c ek or teg should beat the astra slightly.

However from 100-155 astra will no doubt pull away.

What car? I seriously doubt that if it was a modified dc2 got smoked by a vxr. Unless the driver of the dc2 had to left feet or the vxr is far beyond standard and plays you for a fool.

See for two seconds, put down your honda tinted glasses and accept that they can get beat.

It was a 98spec with I/E and the astra vxr is completly standard. The astra pulls away no bother from about 100 up.


The astra did a 14.7 quarter mile and the dc2 did a 14.5. So from a rolling start the astra will beat it. The only reason the astras QM isnt faster is because it has mega wheelspin off the line.
 
hmmm thought you would do better, I left a OPC astra sitting about 7 lenghts in my old ITR :p

But You would probably jump it off the line and them gear changes was too slow man!!

Think I have to agree ;) Honda's aren't unbeatable. Cars nowadays have a lot of power and 1230kg ain't thát heavy. Certainly not when there's 80ft/lb extra available.

Don't forget that there is a power lost btw thw engine and the wheels, and in honda's case it is one of the smallest on the market.
I had a similar expirience, but in my case on track. A guy with a 235hp BMW came to me at the end of the day and asked what I have under my hood, because He wasn't able to follow me.
I have a 205bhp EK4.

Yeah but we're talking 1, maybe 2% difference, no more.

FFS! Who cares what car beats you in a straight line because you will destroy the majority of them on a b-road :drive:

Honda civic's and integra's are built to turn :)

Hmmmm, so your saying street racing is acceptable and a good idea ?
And it doesn’t hurt or just give another reason for the police and others to hate these car even more ?
Plus the danger of other cars on the road …cool idea

in some states they confiscate the cars and crush them.

How much does your EK4 weigh?

Got a B18C in my EK9 now but doesnt feel like it would keep up with a VXR?

Never been in a VXR though however, LOL
 
my mates black B16 ek9 Ripped a ASTRA VXR to Shreads when i was in the car!!!! but its a fairly tuned ek9!!!
 
i can see you were catching him right at the end but if you continued would he just not pul away in the astra when you changed gear ??
was looking at them on youtube and lets just say anyone would do well just to keep up with one not to mind beating one .
 
@civiclife in 4th i just started to pull back i dont know why..that car has beatin evo8's and skylines! must admit tho it realy does run out of go when you go off the clock...! after 180kph there not much use i dont have enough torque!:secret:
