Hi guys,

Due to a change in personal circumstance, I think I really need to put my smart hat on and get rid of the EK9.

Definately something I do not want to do, I love the car..especially with the B18C conversion, but I think it has to be done.

So..to save some dosh, I am looking for something diesel, but has to be a turbo diesel.

I was thinking of something like a Golf TDI, Audi A3 TDI, SEAT Ibiza or something like that. Something a bit cheaper and cash my way might even be more ideal. I pay £500 fully comp for my EK9 with all mods declared and not sure if it would be as cheap to insure something like a 05 plate Audi A3. Probably due to their badge.

So, if I want something good on petrol but still with a bit of oomph, sexy, modern and a diesel..what would you suggest?

Budget of around £6,000.

If anyone here has anything they would like to P/X, let me know!

Cheers.

yeah a good german diesel man, golf mk4 gti anniversary, could have a nice one of them for 6k :nice:

Oh and sorry to hear you have to sell up :((

Be carefull of the 6 speed boxes 2 lads at the gym have had to replace them, costly expense. Had a 54plate focus tdci 1.8 115bhp chipped it ( bluefin ) was 136bhp and pulled well. There nice and cheap to buy plus 200 quid fully comp! Cheap and cheerfull. I still have the bluefin that fits all the focus range just needs sending off to get the right map for the model. Good luck

Yeh i would agree a good old golf will do the trick mate, sorry to hear you selling up hopefully wont be to long before your back in the ek9 hot seat :) good luck with the new car when you get it :)

Thanks for the suggestions.

Will look into MK5 Golfs..seem like the best best so far. Would prefer an Audi A3 but need to look at insurance a bit more.

Dunno about the Focus, though. Still wanna roll in style if i can't have a sporty car lol

Hmm..saw an Alfa 147 that looked nice. Will see if these come with a diesel engine too.

I would go A4 2.0TDI....lovely car, can chip tune to get an incredible amount of torque and the market is flooded with them quottro if your lucky maybe

the mark5 golf is very loud at motorway crusing speeds aswell

My wife has a Skoda Fabia VRS it's standard but it's a mint car and economical.

dont get a focus ffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuu

golf/fabia vrs etc would be decent.

Uncle has a mark 5 golf gt tdi. 170bhp with the dgs box, great car! pulls really well and the dsg box is a joy to drive with. Think it may be too expensive though to find second hand.

Can't believe the quote I am getting.

Put a quote through on confused.com for a Alfa Romeo 147 1.9 JTD and they are coming back over £1,000 :\

Double what it is to insure my import modified car which is valued at more money! Would companys like Adrian Flux be better or they only for modified and performance cars?
