Time to sell up and go rwd/4wd turbo??

Yeah I've always fancied an evo but don't fancy the fact you have to service them every 4000 miles or so!

I had a s13 coupe with silvia front befor the 9 and i liked the coupe but dident have go kart feeling of 9 on koni yellows... if anything after roadracing alot with a friends built miata i might try to build one of those someday but i still love the honda powerplants

Well I've not been able to get hold of the guy with the S14a, maybe he's gone off the idea.

Not a problem really, I like my EK too much, just needs more power!

Hey guys,

A couple of my friends have just finished their rx7 projects. One in particular which was recently mapped and is now sapposedly pushing close to 500bhp and 400lbs of torque:wow: Still waiting for a ride out in it:)).

Anyway after having a chat with them, it got me thinking...is it time for a change i.e. sell my 9 and get something rwd/4wd turbo? Funilly enough they both used to own hondas and havent looked back since.

The only car I would consider selling my 9 for is a evo. However, insurance on them for me is still quite shocking, and running costs scare the hell out of me.

Having said that, I can insure an 200sx for a reasonable sum. From what Ive read they're pretty tuneable and reliable?.

I just wanted to get some input from you guys on here. Has anyone ever sold their honda for a bigger cc turbo beast and had any regrets?
Also how easy would it be to adapt to the handling characteristics of a rwd car after owning a fwd car like an ek9?

Thanks:nice:
haven't yet managed to sell my civic but got myself a hawkeye STI type uk with a few bits done to it... seriously worth every penny :)

im going away from honda's first time i will have owned a car that isnt a honda lol, but owell, ive had a b18 civic and an ek9, and its just not enough for me, stopped putting a smile on my face, but ive got an rb25 s14 to look forward to now, it so so quick, 420bhp and 400torque, also looks the part, so i cant see myself in a honda anytime soon, but you never know

i could probably buy an evo 5/6 if i sold all my civic bits but just have the feeling id get bored or itd get too expensive and id regret it. who knows

yeah danny boy is a prime example, sweet untill you get to a petrol station or something breaks or something then your fooked

Like most cunts that have posted in here with something else, i've always owned Hondas but recently bought a 200sx, the acceleration is a totally different game. Whoever talked about 80 miles to £20, i barely got that with a B16'd EK, failing to see how its in anyway terrible ahah.

80 miles isn't terrible? Ha

That's 20miles per galon, not exactly great is it?

My B16a2 manages 31mpg every tank, 20mpg would make me cry. I would only stomach that to own an RX7!

Considering i got that in 160bhp worth of Honda, i'd be more than happy to get it with a 300bhp S14.

People complaining about fuel consumption is tired, if you want MPG buy a 1.0 micra or a golf diesel. Pretty sure you bought your car to enjoy it..

Yes, but I couldn't enjoy a car that I couldn't afford to drive. Like most things, there is a balance to be struck.

I went from turbo honda to a WRX, i love my Subaru but my Honda will always have a place in my heart, the only car that i feel captures the raw feeling and fun of a turbo Honda is an Evo.

Ye I know where you're coming from if your Honda drank that much! I'm not too bothered about the fuel as long as I don't have to keep filling up every 2-3 days! With the 200sx, it was running rich because it wasn't remapped, once I would have done that it the mpg should have increased a bit. Saying that, the 200 isn't bad on the motorway (depending how you drive obviously).

Blinx- which Evo would that be? I've personally always loved Evo 5 & 6 and then the newer ones like the 7-9
