which one will deliver fastest & quickest speed a stock ek9 built or stock b20vtec with type R head and stock bottom b20b

Kind of a silly question, you are comparing an ENGINE to a CAR, that doesn't really make sense...

The question should be b16b vs b20+16B/18C head.

B20 will accelerate much faster ofcourse. But I'd rather a nicely done B18C

Stupid question, you need to learn that the EK9 is not about straight line speed.

Come on guys give this new user a break :)

To answer your questions:

the ek9 has a B16B engine which is a 1600 cc engine with 185 hp with 109lb/ft of torque (this is a estimate)

A fully built b20, can have more than 200 hp with 140 lb/ft of torque or more.

The B20 is faster since it is a bigger engine, and even in honda motors applies:

There is no replacement for displacement.

On a straight line (drag racing) the B20 will be faster.

The stock ek9 would be faster since the b20 won't move off the line without the other parts(transmission, wheels etc) xD

Just kidding, the b20 would have more torque as stated above so it would help alot in a drag race.

from a reliability standpoint the b16b will last you longer if you use a fully stock b20b/z block on a vtec head.

a stock b20v like youve mentioned above will probably produce around 180-190hp which is similar or more than a stock b16b but the thing that will pull you off the line and out of the corners quicker at any given rpm is the b20v due to the torque difference;

1000kg moved by 150ft/lbs over 50meters will be done alot quicker than 1000kg moved by 129ft/lbs over 50meters (if everything is kept constant).

Least someone answered correctly and didn't just slate a newbie.

To put into perspective my b20 makes more power at 2500rpm than an ek9 does at ANY rpm.

Holy F-ing thread revival batman!!

On a side note good to see some B20 fans still going strong :nice:
