Few pics of the car itself the day after I brought it
Took the steels and hub caps off to trail fit one of the Oz superleggras I had from my previous r5gtt project, very light weight wheel at 4.9kg and also look a bit diffrent from your normal JDM affair.
Then came the task of stripping out all the crap to get it ready to install a cage
The sound deadning was bastard of a job and not one I would like to do again, where as in the past I have removed this stuff quickly the Honda stuff was like twice as thick, need to scrape up a little more but the majority of it is now done. I never did get round to weighing the stuff but the yanks reckon as much as 22lb, I was just glad to get the crap in the bin.
The shell was then taken up to Hauser racing to be fitted with a 8.50 spec cage.
As this shape civic is very lardy to being with it was put on a strict diet, removing all unused brackets, non structal metal and anything which I did not need for racing including the heater matrix and all the pipe work for it, the vents have been removed from the dash and will be replaced with carbon fibre.
Even the tailgate saw some trimming as this weighs too much, maybe look into a carbon one in the future
