EG6 pure track toy joy!

Been a while but I have been chipping away at things. Finally got rid of the standard rear LCA's, that's the rear end done now.

Not happy with the brakes, feel overly spongy still and I have a tiny leak. Think I'm going to go braided with the whole lot. Done it before and has always working well, never really worked with copper lines before.

Just need to sort the brakes and alignment and I think I'll be ready for my first track day :D

love this build, clean eg.. especially with that mileage! cant wait for the next updates..

So been a busy boy on the little Egg this weekend!

Pulled off the front subframe for a good clean up and fresh paint, to be rebuilt with an ITR rack and energy Engine, Torque and gearbox mounts.

So here's the frame off the car, looking a little shabby but not too bad really;

And the mounts ready to go in...

I stripped the ITR rack down o be depowered. I didn't want to go through with the whole looping method, didn't want lines everywhere. So just cut off the piston/seal part, pack it with copper grease and sealed up the fluid holes.

Here's the shaft out;

And the part that needed to come off;

Put a cut down on each side getting as close to the shaft as I can, then used a chisel to split it into 2 *:6:

Job done, all back together with fresh tie rods;

So with the rack depowered meant I could get rid of this lot :D

Got a few coats of stain black down on the subframe before putting it all back together;

All rebuilt and ready to go back in with some SW Motorsport subframe locking collars;

I got the subframe back on to find the splines on the ITR rack were about 2mm wider in diameter than the old EG6 one, so I had to grind out the joint and weld it onto the rack once it was all centered. Was a bit of a faff but at least it works I guess. The steering is twitchy now ;)

Engine mounts in place sorry for the poor quality pics;

Also Tegiwa kindly sent me some front canards to test fit for them, they fit really well and look great. Hopefully will add some downforce on track ;)

Cars coming on really well man, love the look of the rear of the two of them with the diffusers on!
Really happy to see them on two nice cars :nice:

OMFG what a transformation. holy **** thats a nice EG... nice ?? I mean ******* epic !!!!

Really enjoyed reading your thread dude. keep it up mate its stunning work.

P.s nice tanks :D

I remember seeing this for sale and making an offer love what you've done I need to get on with some of this!

Doing great. :nice:

Does it make much difference to Depower a rack properly? As in make it any easier to use than if you just loop the system or remove the blet?

Car looks really well, the yellow eg track styling is perfect

Finally got a track day under my belt! Ive plenty of GoPro video's which I'll get uploaded but they are huge and will take a while!

Great day though, survived my first ever track day :D Only downside I was running Toyo Proxes 4S, what a load of shite they are! Zero grip in the wet with them being only slightly better in the dry. Any throttle in a corner resulted instantly in the front end loosing grip and running wide, grrr!

Otherwise the car didn't miss a beat apart from the fuel gauge doing it's own thing!

So here's my pics from the day;

Foggy start at 0500 :duh:

Ive read that it makes turning easier but I have no comparison. I just wanted it to look clean with having to run lines :nice:
