I know it's not an EK9 but I just have to share that this video is BY FAR, my Favorite video of V-TEC Crossover.

Specs:
B18C1 (USDM GSR)
Skunk2 Tuner S1 Cams
Skunk2 IM
Skunk2 Valvetrain
AEM CAI
AEM Cam Gears
JDM ITR Header
Tanabe Hyper Medallion Exhaust
Hondata

YouTube - DC2 Acura Integra GS-R dyno

I think it depends a lot from the intakes, or not?
For example I had a nice crossover tone with a cone filter and watching to these I can notice that the first has a CAI which is a similar configuration as mine.
Curious to know Stevie's ek9 intake configuration...
I put off my cone filter because i noticed it doesn't worked properly at low rpm's, so i replaced with the stock intake, now it pulls strong but I lost this sound which is awesome to my ears.
Any suggestion on how keep the vtec engagement tone without lose too much?
What intake would be the better?
thanks

Intake setup was a bit rubbish then, full spec of the car was

Fujitsubo manifold
Spoon b-pipe
Spoon N1
Spoon intake elbow
Trust panel filter

That's all!

Will be going doing for tuning on Crome in a month, will take another video, should sound way better :nerv:

The tune on chrome will be very benifitial to the car Steve but the v-tec crossover will be less aggressive due to the fact that you will have more power before vtec, which is what you want:nice:

Henry will map the car up to 7k rpm without vtec and then up to 9k with vtec and where ever the 2 lines from each map cross is where the car naturally needs the vtec to engage for the best power curve. My car was at around 5.5k that thats where it is set but each car is different depending on mods etc

Bet you can't wait now

Ok, thanks Steve!
So I've to think it's not only an intake factor :secret: :p

Similar to my config, but sounds totally different, maybe is the Spoon exhaust!?
Anyone has some advices to obtain this sound?

This is my actual config on my ek4
-stock intake with no resonator and K&N filter
-supersprint header
-ITR mid pipe
-mugen twinloop exhaust
:thanks:

haha you bet, just waiting on last few bits to arrive

Know what you mean, with the current spec and a tune the crossover may not be so pronounced, but it should sound alot more aggresive!

Yea the car will sound a fair bit different and I noticed alot more grunt/pickup each time you change into another gear that before which made it sound alot different at that point. One of my mates said that the car sounded alot more trumpety after the map whatever that means lol

Cool info, never knew thats how you know where vtec comes in.
learnt something new today ;)

I always go one the rule, An agressive abrupt vtec cross over was a result of unsuited tunning and was a bad thing.
