I've seen a few threads lately bout people burning oil. Just thought it'd be interesting to see how much oil everyone burns.

I'll start,

Burn literally no oil in between oil changes every 3 months but I only drive to college every day.

I'd say none, or close to 50-100mm between changes. It chucks more out the breathers than anything so it's kinda kinda hard to keep track.

I burn no oil either and i`m using Motul 8100 5W-40, relativily thin for average temperatures here. Engine has 126.000 miles and still is like new. Actually had it mapped this week and the tuner was surprised to see such a healthy engine keeping a clean A/F ratio and didn`t stink burned oil on the dyno.

126.000 miles is a lot !
maybe previous owner if there was one had a rebuild or something ?
my b18c burns 500-600ml / 5000km when i do my oil change
it start consuming oil after 3000km
i think too much vtec- high rpms kills oil after that kms...

edit : post the dyno & specs plz !!

People who say they use no oil are either lying or not using the engine

You sound so disappointed with your engine. there there now. have you ever thought about servicing it right? putting decent oil in it and not thrash it from every stop light you come across?

mine burns no oil either i service it every 5-6k miles i use 10-40 mobile oil and my car has done 83000 miles. I do give it quite a bit of stick so its not like i just pootle around in it.

1300 miles on the new engine, does not burn a drop...............

not had it on track yet, but driven it very hard on the road with the recent mild weather and oil level hasn't moved

having a nice big oil cooler and plenty engine breathing certainly helps!!

still just running it on 10w40 semi-synth, forged B18C with stage 3 cams and short box

Generally my engine burns no oil. And i'm using vtec very much.

It only starts burning oil when it comes closer to the next oilchange (I do every 10.000km/6200miles).
This was on the original engine in my car with 220.000km/136700miles and also with the newer engine with around 100.000km/62000miles.

rubbish!!

My B16B has done 127k miles now and doesnt burn a drop. I do around 100 miles a day and give it plenty vtec and not a drop of oil lost plus I have a 4.9FD so revs are higher for me!:) Its been a well looked after engine, plenty of regular oil changes, etc

Most if not all high revving NA engines use a bit of oil. Whether its 100ml or 1l Varies engine to engine. Find it v hard to believe that people's engines burn no oil lol, there's countless threads about it & the majority of ppl that post say a little oil gets burnt.

I check my oil regually and mine doesn't seem to drop at all

I change oil every 4500 with fuch,s Titan race

Mine burnt after the first two weeks after I had the b16b dropped in. Burnt again after I topped up. And now it doesn't burn at all! Not been driving it as hard though compared to at first

Just to show what a complete rebuild uses.

I done 90km on track and used 0.25L of Motul 5W40 300V.

Engine has ~2500KM , ran in hard and built to standard spec (B18CR)

Edit: Just went out to the car to check the oil level , and seems a tad overfull since I topped it up
so has used about ~0.1L/100ml
