How much oil do you burn?

Fully rebuilt b16a2 with PCT pistons. I have to refill 2-3 times a month (bottom to top)

But i rev the sh*t out of the engine daily. But there is no noticeable oil burn when i drive normal.

No blue smoke, no smell of burnt oil, the intake manifold is clean.

Using Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40. I will try different oil this summer.

Most if not all high revving NA engines use a bit of oil. Whether its 100ml or 1l Varies engine to engine. Find it v hard to believe that people's engines burn no oil lol, there's countless threads about it & the majority of ppl that post say a little oil gets burnt.

A lot of it can come down to the actual grade of the oil. For example i use to use 10w 50 and the engine never use to use a drop. Now i use 5 30 it drinks it all day lol.

never burnt a drop until i put in race spec fully synthetic oil. in 5k miles its needed about 500ml of the stuff. going to run fuchs oil next and see how it runs then.

Mine seems to burn quite a bit especially when using VTEC alot. Although it doesn't really smoke when driving, it will do on occasion if sat in town traffic for ages and then one blast and it doesn't smoke after. Can smell oil on occasion. I think previous owner said it used to use oil when driven hard, it goes like **** of a shiney shovel though! Might try a different brand and see how it goes.

My Vsm ek9 uses none, my white ek9 hasn't used none and I've done 450 miles And it's still full gonna keep a eye on it as the old owner said it does burn a little bit

DC2 here. In normal driving, daily-style it doesn't use anything. But it does use a small bit when tracked. But nothing to really worry about.

Used to burn loads, but I did enjoy vtec. It's the reason I stripped my ek9 for bits and bought a new car. But then I never had much luck with the b18, stripped a big end bearing within 3k of me buying it at 58k miles

58k and spun a bearing u must have been pissed, was the car tracked most of it life before you got the engIne?

I burn some oil, off the top of my head i don't know how much.. not as much as i thought though it seems to have calmed down alot, i think when i bought the car it was a bit low which has thrown me as i thought i burnt quite a bit then topped it up and it seemed to stay full for a long time. Hmmmmmm
Got some nice motul 8100 oil to go in with a new Hamp Filter so that'll be going on within the next 1000 miles. so hopefully that oil won't burn.

i thought i have heard the saying quite a lot. " its the nature of the B series engine's " is this true guys ?

Not a drop use Mobil 1 0w-40, standard engine mapped by Will at RDT.

Mine burns quite a bit as well as some smoke on vtec
I use 5w30 fully synthetic oil and use vtec maybe only once every 25 miles

mine doesn't seem to burn any oil but vtec gets used very rarely...

I've used a litre over 1000 miles, but 300 of those are probably on track

The b16a2 in my old coupe burned about 300ml a week but in fairness I drove that thing in vtec more often than not and covered a lot of miles. Quick vti too

some do, some dnt all comes down to how there looked after etc my jordan didnt burn any when i got it and still doesnt due to me taking good care of it,the dc2 burnt a bit then i high comp'd it and doesnt burn any again :)

My only burn oil when I use vtec very hard, I burn about half a litre a week if I driven hard everyday
