Excuse the extreme Dirt :p

Cambelt to be changed 2morrow !

Well firstly i was going for a bit of drive the other day and managed to do this to my H-brace at the bottom of a hill :( , Ouch!

DSC01994.jpg

BUT progress!! went upto see si_vti again today and gave the bad wamma jamma some money to sort me out with fitting a new cambelt!

i bought one from Motorfactors which i gave them my number plate off my car for so they would get me the right one, got there, got the old cambelt off, went to put the new one on and theyve only given me a cambelt for a B18, 2 teeth longer! so si & couple of blokes where he works got on the case and managed to find another one that we had to go collect from missions away, at least we went to collect it in the k20d beast!, But finally got the right one and he fitted it :) (thanks again si)

I mite try and get some kind of money out of MF as had i paid full price for the labour and not been able to get another cambelt i would be alot out of pocket, incompetent monkeys! Next time il only go through welz!

While in there after a bit of umming and aahing i decided we should get rid of the AC, as it needed re-charging anyways and i never use it!, So now its gone! :)

where my mate had them before me hed mounted them wrong and it had worn though some of the brading, however it had bin on his car for ages with only that little patch worn through and it didnt seem to be causing an issue, however i was braking before a corner quite hard when the pedal just went to the floor and i kept going, luckily was a fairly smooth corner and jsut flew around it, Anyways... Got a new one the next day (well had to buy a new set cus cudnt get just one :() but got it fitted so all good! < just need my ek9 MC & Servo on now!!

Looking good man, very nice build.

What droplinks did you end up using with the Function7's? I used Blox ones but they are making some amount of noise at the minute!

How new are you blox drolinks????

i had blox ones and within a month the ball bearings had gone on them and they are clonking around no end!!! I still havnt got any... i bouht some OEM ones but didnt fit... apparently i need OEM ITR ones.. as they have longer threads?? maybe due to the ITR having eyelit LCA's they are a bit wider ?? I think im going to get some ASR ones, but before i do im going to look into ITR ones more...il let you know how i get on !!

Cheers for the comment :)

Did you get the ITR droplinks fitted. I have a similar problem to you as the blox droplinks i have are knocking around and annoying my head only on a few months, if even! Would like to avoid forking out for ASR ones if possible.
O and nice thread! :nice::drool:

awsume build mate car is stunning commin on a long way. did your car come standard with they seats cos they are the same as whats in mine i thought they only come on the 00 face lift. and cos you are the first person iv ever seen with them iv never been able to ask. nice job

fantastic car u got there, must have put alot of time, effort and money into it! have u considered taking your calipers off and giving them a good rub down and a paint? i done this on mine and was really pleased with the difference it made, and it only cost £4 for a pot of paint an hour of my time!

i havnt changed the bumpers ????? .. ive added fogs to the front one ??

The seats that are in it came standard mate, they do on all facelift civics i believe!

yeah scrubbing down the brakes is on my to-do list but its just having the time really! they will be done at somepoint, unsure as to what colour to do them, dont want them to be too bright, either a pale matt sort of gold colour or a dark metallic grey i think lol

I still havnt been able to source any ITR droplinks but saying that i havnt been trying that hard becuase im skint this month! il drop you a PM when i manage to sort some out for it, im also kinda against paying for ASR ones! or even blox ones at £80 :O!!!!

i think mine wore out early becuase i fitted it while it was in the air instead of sat at ride hight (on the floor) as your meant to, as with adjustable end links if they are at differnt settings (lengths) when its in the air and you then lower the car onto them then they will already have tension on them if u know what i mean? therefore giving them constant wear even when your on a flat surface. Shan't be doing that when i get new ones!! :p
(not a problem you would have with OEM droplinks)

Cheers for the comments! new MC & Servo will be going on soon so be able to make the most of the new brakes :D

Cheers man! il look into finding some over here!! :nice:

i have ordered from that ebay seller before and the service was top notch,

also if you wanna keep it local dixelbrake on here is a UK hardrace dealer :nice::nice:
