No compromise Supercharged ek9 build

Great attention to detail that was a nice read :D

Where is that tow strap attatched too ??? surely the slam panel would just bend if you try and tow the car with it? :S

Car looks great, those regas suite it so well :D i feel inspired now to hurry up and underseal all mine, (once i get the rust removed :p)

Great work, saw this for sale a while ago and wondered if it would end up on here. Made a really nice job of it though!

lotta work has gone into this top job!!! have you thought about atr discs and legend calipers? that porshce setup would've been beasty, bet shes a whole different animal being surcharged :))

Alot of work has gone in to that car nice to see. I had thought about doing the TRS tow hook thing myself so looking at yours has shown me what it will look like :) Im also in the process of repainting my rear interior aswell. Good job.:nice:

dont wanna sound like a prick here.

but is this running a standard ecu? why no instead of cleaning it and replacing nuts and bolts, get it mapped and make sure its running right?

:bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow:

got bloody logged out twice it took that long to read haha

had no idea you had done so much work to it man mucho respect !!

ALOT of hard work has went into your car mate and it shows! Car looks real well and I look forward to seeing dyno results and a video:naughty:

Thanks for the awesome comments guys :) Means alot to me as i have spent thousands of pounds and hundreds of hours working on it so to hear kind words of appreciation makes it all seem even more worth the effort.

thanks mate. It is attached to the slam panel, which is where all tow hooks attach as far as i am aware but i dont really plan on getting it towed from the tow strap anyways. hopefully i never have to get it towed but I only put it on for the show the previous day but its staying as its grown on me big time

Is your rear crash-bar bent?

Thanks mate. The undersealing was a bastard but im glad i took my time and done it right the first time. Its such a rewarding feeling when you know something is done properly. yup the rear crash bar is slightly bent for some reason. it wasnt bent in my ownership and i noticed it when i took the rear bumper off. it will get replaced when i get round to it though as it just bolts on from what i cans see. Not really bothered about it at the moment.

Don't suppose you've ever read this before: http://www.ek9.org/forum/interior-e...aling-waxoyling-your-driveway.html#post274477? I had deja-vu reading a few phrases about undersealing the car: coincidence or plagiarism? :D

Yes mate that guide was a massive help to me and i did follow it closely. hmm not sure if thats a serious question but i will reference everything i write the next time lol

Thanks mate. Yeh that was one of the first kits i was thinking about but then i thought about going even bigger and ended up with the ideas of the porsche set up, which i was really excited about but things didnt work out in the end unfortunately. The atr/legend set up will still work under 15" wheels as far as i am aware but im swaying towards the spoon twin block arrangement now. i think i would only need 5mm spacers to get them to clear the wheels.

No go ahead mate all comments welcome as usual. No its not running a standard ecu, the c's supercharger kit comes with a c's ecu to go with it. im switching to hondata s300 though for ease of tuning down the line and for more options.

erm is that a serious question? i have never really understood why people say these things but why not keep your car clean and rust free and get it running right at the same time? does it have to be one or the other? Money is not really an issue and the car is not driven right now anyways. I have another car that im using at the moment so the ek9 is in the garage 99% of the time. The only times it has been out is for the last 2 shows and other than that i have taken it out a few times before just to keep it running.

The car will be going for a remap and belts change before the end of next month, with the possibility of getting it intercooled if all goes well. As long as its ready for next summer when i take it to the nurburgring then im happy.

Thanks

Firas

oh nurburgring should be fun with the c's mate!! :) what kind of intercooler are gona go for? I would say it is a must! what about some gearing as well, I have the 4.9 FD and its ace! :)

nice work mate,

did u buy this from a guy just out of aberdeen....?

Thanks mate. No mate i picked it up locally from dundee

ALOT of hard work has went into your car mate and it shows! Car looks real well and I look forward to seeing dyno results and a video:naughty:

Thanks man, much appreciated and thanks again for the winglets ;) yeh hopefully get it on the rollers very soon but i would be happy with what its sister car (belonging to ant/azza) was running. Think he got 230bhp at 5psi mapped on dta s40 pro. Again this wasnt intercooled and at such a low boost level it was a good result imo

No worries mate, it's there to be read :)

What is the VTEC kick like on the engine?

The only kind of FI I'd ever consider for a Honda is a SC, keeps the NA feel of the engine without 'selling out' to turbo.

I look forward to the dyno results! :nice:

yeh definatly man. tbh thats one of my biggest inspirations, is to get it on the nurburgring. One of the 10 things i need to do before i die definatly lol. As for intercooler im not entirely sure, even if possible and i will know more when i take it down to get tuned by will hopefully but from what i have heard 300bhp is achievable from an intercooled set up. tbh im not wanting to chase big number and i dont want to compromise what these cars are all about. They were never made for straight line speed but rather for great handling. i just think having a little more power and torque will be advantages

As for gearbox, yeh its getting some serious work carried out on the gearbox down the line. Not sure what im going for yet but gearing will be a top priority once everything settles down abit

Thanks mate :) The vtec is still there(more change over in noise than a kick). I mean its not as abvious but you can still feel it slightly. I would describe it more as a linear pattern in term of how the power is delivered. yeh i totally agree about sc vs tc. although the kick of a turbo is awesome but i think it compromises what a b16b is all about in terms of drivability anyway. saying that i have never been in a turbocharged ek9 so im only assuming :)

Just think that the first thing you should have done when you bought the car is get it mapped so its running 100%. For all you know just know it could be hella lean/rich/det'ting etcetc.

Your obv dedicated to making it a badass car though. Although creating an intercooler setup for it will be very difficult due to the type of charger it is.

Only real company which does it is LHT, who modify JRSC manifolds, so could possibly do it for the C's. But you have to send you mani to them and wait on it coming back etc. so not ideal.

Who you planning on getting to map the car on s300?

haha i know what you mean mate and your quite right but i was never in a rush to get the car on the road. It has been off the road pretty much since i bought it as it was a bought as a project car rather than an everyday car. Also i wasnt sure what i wanted in terms of engine management so it took a fair bit of time thinking and reasearching before i commited myself and hondata is not exactly the cheapest option but i think down the line it will be worth it.

Thanks for the info on the intercooler set up mate. Didnt know that but will look more into it. Also sending the mani away isnt going to be a problem. any ideas on cost?

Hopefully it will be will (ek9turbo) who mapps it. I would have prefered to stay local and get it done by someone like henry roy but im willing to travel for the best service and i have only heard amazing things about will.

LHT Performance, Honda & Acura Superchargers

not sure on cost man. if you are on jdmy0.net, user 'e-eg6' is doing this right now with his JRSC.

Henry Roy is where I would be taking it man considering he did Ant's old C's 9 and also Gordies JRSC B16B Eg. IF you did pick henry would be DTA probably over s300.

Thanks for the link bud. looks quite interesting actually.Na im not on jdmy0 but i will get sighned up and have a look.

Yeh i heard henry roy mapped Ants old one but also heard it had idleing issues after the map it got. Not too sure about how accurate that is but i can vaguely remember reading that somewhere. I think it had a few remaps after henry's though. One at tdi north and one by mace, who is meant to be a wizz with hondas and managed to squeez 10 more bhp out of it. I think either ant or azza who were the last 2 owners i believe could clarify this though.

Yeh heard ants was mapped on dta. Doesnt henry work for performance tec though? i thought they dealt with hondata too no?

Its back to the drawing board now though haha as youve gotten henry roy back in my head.
