Rambo's EK9

Nice updates mate, sounds like you've been busy!

Cheers bud going to even busier in the next few weeks. Got all the gearbox parts to fit, SPA gauges to fit, full front arms are getting powdercoated and fitted with hardrace bushes, spoon gear change rod to fit, outlaw engingeering thermo kit to fit along with a full OEM gasket and seal kit with skunk2 cam seal.

manifold does look good , any pictures of the ground clearance ?

cheers mate, I will get alot more pics for you no probs. I cant drive over any of those single side speed bumps without rubbing now so I need to drive over the middle of them :(

Looking good mate!!! Good to see you're still getting stuck in and haven't chickened out yet !! ;)

Awesome mate, you better be swinging by mine as well for a coffee ya kant ! :p lol.

My wee bro kindly took my rocker cover to his work, cleaned it back to the bare metal and welded the 2 bungs to it for my B&R catch can set up. Then my mechanic gave it a nice new coat of VHT crinkle red which I got courtesy of Dave. Cheers dude! Came out very nice.

only bad news of the day was my brakes had stopped working. My mechanic checked and my brake fluid had turned to what he could only describe as crystalised sludge! :( he had to strip all my brakes down, remove the master cylinder and blow out the whole system. My prop valve is totally blocked thought and had to buy a new one! Honestly!! must hav happened as the car aint moved that much in the last 6 months.

Make sure you thoroughly clean the inside of that rocker cover mate. Blast it down with a jet wash for a good 20 minutes to be safe. You risk ruining your engine if there are metal shavings still in there.

Hey dude dnt worry my mechanic gave it a good blast oot with his airgun and pressure washer. Had th rocker cover on for a week now and its been perfect so far so am sure there wld hav been a problem by now.

New breather set up looks the business mate ! Bad luck with the brakes though.

Cheers dude, just tried to keep it simple. Still trying to decide on location of catch can and route of th hoses. Shld look th damage when dne tho.

A kno man it sucks. Thts th master on th way so get tht slammed on and brakes bled and clutch fluid changed and shld be good to go

Weird for the brake fluid to go off ? Maybe water got in and contaminated the system.

Red finish on your rocker looks good, I could never get a decent even effect with the red hence why I stuck with black now.

Very nice, did you get the gears fittied yet??

Cheers mate. Nah not yet, Steven is hoping to get my gearbox done by end of may as he is busy preparing for th MU trackday at knockhill. Gna meet him there with my gearbox which will save me a trip to aberdeen. Chockin to get it all finished tho

A kno man we were shocked when we seen it but it must hav been a bad combination of things as it has well and truly ****** everythin up. Goin to change my fluid alot more regularly now.

Yea it has come out very well, gave it 5 coats. Toyin with th idea of paintin th writing black. If it looks pants i will just scrape it off.

Sorry i havent got ur rocker cover posted yet as i hav been too busy. Gettin it sorted on monday for defo

Well got my gearbox rebuilt at last. Steven didnt have time so Andrew at Automek done it. He done an epic job, the guy is a perfectionist and cnt recommend him highly enough.

He fitted a new full set of mfactory carbon synchros, new oem sleeves and springs, taller mfactory 1 st gear and a shorter mfactory 3rd, 4th, 5th gear ratios and an oem 4.4fd. Box feels class, nice and smooth, car really goes and has transformed th car. Really nice whine of th gears too! :)

Also fitted a set of mfactory drive shafts, mfactory extended ball joints, spoon gear change rod, had my front suspension assembly powdercoated black and fitted hardrace bushes to thm. Car feels so tight and smooth up front! :)

Still gotta fit th b&r breather tank, SPA gauges, thermo block spacer kit and my new fujitsubo RM01A exhaust i recieved today. Th exhaust is a work of art. Got it brand new on ebay for a bargain still original packaging. A guy in england bought it for his ek9 but sold it before he had th chance.

Will get all th pics up this weekend. On another positive note my car has been chosen as th pre-facelift ek9 to be in th full type R photoshoot tht paul smith is doing! :)

Had a wee pronlem fitting th new exhaust yesterday and really dnt kno how. Th exhaust bolted up perfect and looks great but th jdm test pipe i was gna fit was 3cm too long. How is tht if i hav a jdm skunk2 mani, jdm test pipe and jdm exhaust system. Shldnt it all match up?

So i will either hav to buy an adjustsble test pipe or get a custom made up. My mechanic reckons my mani because its new could be longer as it mah be for a facelift ek9. A dnt know tho

Cleaned under the black strips when the car was off the road, my god it was minging and the previous owner had glued them so needed a bit gentle persuasion. Put some waxoyl on before they went back on so all good now.

the work space. Gearbox and arms off.

painted my front anti roll bar red as I was bored. Pic of the test pipe that ended up not fitting with my RM01A! :(

my mfactory extended ball joints and drive shafts. The shafts are beasts like!! :D

all fitted

arms powdercoated and hardrace bushes pressed in

new exhaust...looks class! :)

my Spec clutch. still going strong! :)

lunch :)

gave the calipers a lick of paint too. look at the poor rust on the quarter that will be getting cut oot soon! hate rust!!:angry2:
