Sweet motor mate, seen you about a few times.
Shouldn't need to change map sensor unless its reading odd? I've yet to see a original Honda one go bad! Lambda sensor, yeah there common enough to go bad. OEM pump's are rare to give trouble but what I have seen is the filter bag on pump gets very dirty over the years and thus restricting flow as the pump can't suck up the fuel like it should through the dirty filter. Walbro pump is relatively cheap so no harm to change and it will come with new pump filter just make sure you get a genuine Walbro and not some copy pump!
Gearing mods will transform how it drives
Thanks for the quick reply and info mate
Henry never actually gave a reason why I would need to replace the Map Sensor. Lambda however was not doing as it should he said. The reason for the Fuel Pump change is on idle the revs are jumpy, weak and inconsistent. Have tried all the usual fixes like clean IACV and I have only just replaced the PCV valve and main relay and serviced the car and idle problem is still the same so must be fuel pump as you say it must be very dirty now.
Yea the gearing has been on my list to do for a while as 1st, 2nd and reverse syncros are very crunchy now and 2nd gear tends to jump into neutral on its own hence why I will just get everything done at once! should be fun afterwards!
cheers mate. what car do you drive as I do see a few civics about?
Nice
Had a black ek4 with red gt3s but now have a milano red accord sport. Seen you on the bypass as I work up in leith and travel from Haddington. Seems to be a lot of civics about East lothian, not many ek9s tho
Well if your lambda sensor is acting up it can cause idle issues. Plug out lambda sensor and see how it idles
plugged out the lambda sensor and its defo not right!
in the process of sourcing a new manifold as mines snapped last week so will fit the new lambda, mani, fuel pump, timing belt and tensioner kit and map sensor at the same time.
trying to source a new map sensor and came across a hondata and omni power as other options other than a new OEM one as honda want like £200 odd pound for a new one.
Are omni power and hondata ones ok? what bar should i go for? 2.5?
Unless your going turbo there is no need to change from stock map sensor. As I said before i'm yet to see a OEM map sensor fail. I should have a few floating around garage if you want a used replacement OEM honda one.
hhhmm. Id take gav-EK9's advice personly. Defently the first steps id take. Im no expert but that exhaust looks abit dicey.
Good luck getting it sorted bud.
i do miss Henry's chat! every conversation with him is like a school lesson
if you need it asap, I'm up the road on Wednesday and can bring one up ?
