Thats a lot of headwork for such little power. Why not use stock valves? I only upgraded my stem seals an got a 3angle valve job.
I'm only having a 3 angle valve job & the guides replaced and blended. That work won't really cost much and i'm hoping it will improve spool times more than anything. I'll be going over all this with my machine shop though (basically telling them what i want from the engine and how i want it to preform) to get there opinion as they know best. If somethings not needed or won't make much of a difference then i'll leave it.
I'd rather just upgrade the whole valve train including the valves. Your not the only person to bring this up. After hearing a few horror stories about failures down to stock valves i don't think i could put my mind at rest without upgrading them. Those valves i have picked are designed for high boost & high rpm and don't really cost a fortune. Again its more for peace of mind... I also know a few people running them in there boosted setups without a problem.
BTW, Do you know any parts shops in LA around by Santa monica ? We going out there next year and i'm hoping to bring a load of parts back with me top finish this build. Thank you
