Hello all, I'm Andrew from Aberdeen and I own a 2000 Honda Civic EK9. I've had the car a few months now and thought I start a thread and share progress with it. Some of you may notice this as Vito's old EK9, he now owns a rather nice DC2. I am best mates with another EK9.org member and fellow 'Nine' owner, David Taylor. Jealousy of his 1997 EK9 drove me to buying my Civic!
A little back round on my previous car history, my first car was Ford Fiesta Zetec S. A modest car that ignited my life! From that car and joining an owners club I have met many friends, including David, and experienced many joys, the sad losses and the depleted bank account that car ownership brings.
How it all started...
From there came coilovers, bigger and stronger brakes, LSD gearbox, polybushes, exhaust and fibreglass panels. While it didn't have speed it could carry so much pace through the bends and on track it was fantastic.
I then got a bit more sensible and needed something comfy to go to and from work in, so along came the A3 2.0TDi S-Line Quattro.
Quattro is a must for the winter around Aberdeen. I was getting bored of the diesel driving so I needed something to give me that rush. Along came the Civic and I've been a happy man ever since, super comfortable and economical Audi for work and a Honda Vtec buzz for the weekends!
And onto the EK9...
As I bought it,
Soon I replaced the clutch with an OEM plate but with a Spoon uprated clutch release bearing and I thought it would be fun to help the engine rev with a Spoon lightweight flywheel while the gearbox was out. I also had it dyno'd last month before it got tucked away for winter.
Coming over the winter I'd like to replace the front grill and I'm due Innovate mounts to cure the engine movement as the original mounts have perished.
Current spec;
Tegiwa replica 4-2-1 Manifold
Custom 2.5 b-pipe with 1 silencer
Oem airbox with Spoon drop in filter and direct airflow pipe
Password JDM 3 point strut brace
Spoon reservoir covers
Gold washers and stainless steel bolts in engine bay
Uprated leads
Silicone hoses
Momo Montecarlo 330mm wheel
Broadway mirror
Spoon uprated clutch release bearing
Spoon lightweight flywheel
Thanks for looking and comments welcome. I'd particularly like to hear comments on the engine graph as it drops once it has crossed over, something that I believe shouldn't happen.
