small annoyances on your ek9's


My handbrake was rubbish until i replaced the rear calipers
The locks on the door cards rattle like fcuk
Get rattles from the handbrake surround and some for the centre console

But the rattles are caused by my SOLID engine mounts lol, you guys should see these things :p

oh and the fact that the drivers window can be put up or down with one flick of the button but the passenger one cant. That annoys me the most.

I had the same problem and that sorted it
 
I see that everyone has little worries with its civic but these are way too minor with comparison to other failures that european cars tend to have! It's as simply as that. Honda has made us spoiled hehe
 
my drivers window barely opens!! works alot better when its raining tho :D
must try a shot of wd40 on them later and see how it works.. pass seat squeeks like a c**t :( think theres sumthing f**ked in the rail..
Its the little thing that make me hate my honda!! :p
 
lol, good to see am not the only one with annoying niggles ! my passenger seatbelt squeaks like a b1tch ! passenger side window is slooowwww (then again, my polos window used to get stuck lol), drivers side door locks plastics rattles like hell, really annoying !
 
whatever little niggles you may find,,,,,,,,

all is forgiven once you mash the throttle into the carpet before that apex and unleash the vtec!!!

driving an EK9 is like riding the girl of your dreams,, nothing comes close!!

The clips that hold the bumpers on. The break into 5 pieces as soon as they see your hand getting close to it.
 
my glove box squeeks:angry2: so anoying you just touch it and it stops but you try and make the lock tighter it doesnt do anything!!! oh and i cant use the handbrake i put it in reverse lol

but we all love our honda's:D

i have had some squeeks 'n all on my ej9, how this will be on my ek9 i cannot tell yet, but it's just something i came to live with :p just turn up the radio a little and you won't hear it you know ;)
 
North American EJ6 and not an EK9.

Did a rear disc brake swap from a DA9 Integra and the Handbrake was super tight and strong as hell at first but when it got real cold (almost immediately after the swap) the hand brake froze. I'd drop the handle but the brake would still be on. Had to yank the crap out of the handle to break it free but at the same time I loosened it up real bad. Now it doesn't hold as well and it still freezes occasionally in the cold.

Random things rattle and it sounds like I'm rolling down the road like it's Sherman tank. Okay it's not that bad but it does getting annoying when I don't have my radio louder than hell.

One bolt on my driver seat keeps getting loose (probably cause I keep tightening it back by hand) and the seat rocks a little when it does.

For some weird reason they never installed the floor mat anchor for the driver side in 96 models. I got one but can't install it without some kind of special tool that the dealership lost (understandably so since they haven't had anyone come in for that recall in about 5 or 6 years).

Cause I swapped the center console for one out of an Si with an armrest, the armrest part isn't down securely. The mounts aren't there for an armrest in a CX.

The cup holders for both 96-98 and 99-00 models SUCK. I've had both in here.

Weird problem here. Apparently there was short a while back that knocked out my 3rd brake light (the one in the spoiler). For a while my hatch open light would be on except when I hit my brake. When i let off the brake, it'd come back on. The hatch open light is working properly now but the 3rd brake light still doesn't work. I've tried 3 bulbs.

I have a permanent CEL for a Code 91 FTP Sensor. So that damn light blazes on my dash all the time. Also my diagnostic plug is for some strange reason missing so I can't even check to see if there are any other CEL codes (which I really need to check for).

Due to a camber issue caused by my brake swap, my steering wheel is turned slightly to the right. Need camber kits to fix it.

There's a bunch of other crap too but this is the main stuff.
 
im coming to think that all of these problems are very minor and we should be greatful for this. just think how bad eurotrash is some of those are awful, i could name a few more problems with saxo's and i dont even own 1 lol
