Interesting, was going to get an eCtune remap by Romain at ARTech very soon (he's only down the road from me) - but tempted to pick up a second hand spoon ECU after reading this thread.
Surely anything actually mapped onto your car by someone decent will provide better results than a 'plug and play' ECU? no? opinions please people!
youl probably find the People with bad opinions are those who have not owned a car with a spoon ECU installed
No i agree, its not the best thing out there, but for the Hassle free quality it has and the fact that it is half the cost if not less than a Hondata Map then its definatly a great option.
Ive had a spoon ecu on my ek9 and i think it is a heap of **** like most of spoons stuff. But thats just me. . . .
spoon ecu's does need to upgrade your valve springs too ??
peak performance would be with higher ron jap fuel, yes, however thats what a knock sensor is for. if you run lower ron fuel, it'll retard as appropriate, but ideally to get the best out of it, run as high a ron fuel as possible (repeatedly, not just once).
