Vtec6000's EK9 - Update pg6

Sounds like a plan. 1.6 bar lol... Poor engine. I bet mines gunna start lifting badly with the surfer on. I have a set of arp's but i dont want to use them on this engine. I want to save them for my forged block.

I didn't want to use ARP's on this engine either but seen as you can reuse the headstuds i'm just gonna throw them in and reuse them when I build the bottom end:nice:

I was thinking of doing that but i can't settle for just changing the head bolts. If it has to come off i'd rather just do the lot. How many times do ARP say you can reuse them ? Is it 4 ? I don't like the idea of reusing them on a high powered FI setup. On a NA setup it wouldnt bother me. I'd rather them be fresh if you know what i mean...

I know i'm thinking along the same lines at the moment and pricing up pistons and rods.. Not sure if ARP give a limit to the amount of times they can be reused but people running a lot more power than I will have had heads removed and refitted several times without issues from reusing them.

Have you looked into Mahle piston's ? They do a 81.25mm set for our engine and there made from a 4032 alloy so you can run a tighter piston to wall clearence compared to other forged pistons. They suppose to be a good set of pistons for the cash.

Yeah Mahle make good pistons. I'm looking into Supertech pistons there made from the same alloy(4032) and are about 100 less in price.

I've had a look at them to but i wasnt to sure about them because of the price being so cheap so i turned my nose up at them (i know....). Do you know anyone thats used them ?

where abouts in ireland are you pal id love to see this and get some info off you i was thinkin of boosting mine or doing a K20 conversion i dont know what to do yet tho.

Don't know of anyone who has used there forged pistons but there cast pistons have good reviews...

looks awesome mate nice to see u putting in the hours it certainly paid off

Thanks again for the kind comments. Got to thank damob on here also who helped me out alot with getting this finished.

Very nice build, your engine bay looks amazing! :) Good luck with rest of the build mate! :)

Roads too wet to do a pull up through the gears so just done a 5'th gear pull to show you the torque of the wee b16a:D low boost setting(.62bar/9psi)

Nice, pulls threw with such ease! Fair play to you great build! :))

i'd say this is a real animal to go from 1st - 5th on a dry road, more vids please??

When the roads are abit dryer i'll attempt another video. 1st gear is pretty useless though even in the dry way to much wheelspin

f**king weather this week in Galway

I'm good to be back in Belgium, weather is better...

Want to see your vids soon and look at the car in the future
