No problem to go! Whats the next plan? Upgrade the engine and go for more boost?
 
That sounds fast :D the more i see your turbo build and others on here th more i want to do it!! What power are you hoping to make?

If my stock engine wasnt such a oil burner i'd probably have stayed stock bottom end and gone for 350bhp:nerv: As for what power it will make when it's built I don't know....i'll more than likely max out the turbo anyway somewhere in the region of 400bhp

So thats why you swapped for the b16a? I remember you saying that they handle the turbo much better, 350 would have been insane but 400bhp :drive::drive: looking forward to seeing more as you go along!

Yeah b16a's like boost! I was just unlucky and ended up buying a oil burner:mad: More updates in a few weeks:nice:
 
Looks a beast mate ! ! Did you push it to 270bhp ?

I'd say it's circa 280bhp @10psi I pushed the tune another bit out on the road. When I run it at a bar it's in around 300bhp but pushes all the coolant out expansion bottle so can't sustain 1bar pulls for long:D The above video is stock wastegate pressure(10psi)
 
Poor engine lol. When you tuned it did you take it to MBT ? I did some tuning on the surfer at the weekend. Its only running 8psi at the moment. It feels stronger than my old t3 @ 10psi for sure. I'm still debating what to push this engine to.

Very doubtful that you would ever reach mbt on a turbo engine, you'll become knock limited well before then;) I imagine the surfer is flowing a lot more air than the t3 so hence making more power on lower boost level. On 99/100octane fuel you should be able to push that engine to 300bhp and still be very reliable.
 
Looks like it pulls strong evan if it is burning a bit of oil!!!!
 
What octane fuel you running ? I guess our C/R don't help lol. I would imagine if you dropped the C/R a bit you'd hit it without knock on your fuel running low boost....

I was thinking around 300bhp should do the trick. Yeah it is flowing a lot more compared to the T3. The thing is though i can't really notice any difference in spool to. It spools like lightning.

97octane it's all we got here at the pump:angry2: Yeah if I was running like 8.0:1cr and 7psi on a small turbo I might reach mbt before the knock limit no fun in that though:p Gotta love bb turbo's:nice:
 
Lol that wouldnt be fun at all... ha ha... I guess i'll work it out for myself when i hit the dyno ! :nice:
