My B20B ek9 build up story

That harness bar and cage looks class Dunx!! :) Now what else is happening wi that SWEET engine of yours?? :)

still a saxo though lol.

what was that ek9 with the massive rear wing?

Yes fully stripped ek4 caged race car running a K20 on throttle bodies. About 300bhp i think.

Cage add on cost me £250.

They can do a FIA full cage £850+ or a rear cage for £600+

Nice Ride mate love it will have to see it in person when I collect my car bud :)

Hi mate, can you please tell me where the cylinder head feed pipe starts? From the OEM pressure sender hole? I can not see the Golden eagle conversion kit...

Hi
OK i pulled her from out the hedge where she has sat for nearly 5 months. I couldn't believe it, it started under its own steam! Still got all the dirt on it from the HOT day at Silverstone last year.
Anyway i am doing the HOT track day at Snetterton on Sat so will be cleaning it up ready.
Looks like the stickers will have to be redone as they have all faded.
Check out that mould on the steering wheel!

How come you left it for 5 months do you only use it for track mate?? N whats your daily drive

Ha ha that steering wheel looks passed it mate !

Wish i had EK9's just lying around ha ha

My daily drive is one of my sales cars, usually an ek9 but been using a s2k a bit lately. My own car is a VW Polo G40! It's I little 1.3 charged engine.

Speak to martin dunx he puts a tub in his foot well filled up with crystals that absorb the moisture.

Alright you not goin to get a nine or a jap car for your self mate

More details on this!!!

My mate has had a couple G40's, great fun little cars

second that Steven,

you steering wheel has more mold than mine that has been sat for around 4months now, and i though mine were bad. but my whole interior has just been valeted due to a rear light not being bolted up fully by previous owner,

Be good to hear her on the track Dunx

Speak to martin dunx he puts a tub in his foot well filled up with crystals that absorb the moisture.

A tub of salt does the same.

If you look in his center consol thats exactly one of those, little box full of crystals lol. Same one i have its a little dehumidifier, can get em on ebay for peanuts. They work ok but you need at least 2 or three around the car. :nice:

On my way home from Oulton Park it was evident that the gear box bearings hadn't taken to kindly to the days abuse. They were a little noisy on the way up but whined loads on the way home.

I removed the box and first off found the EXCEDY clutch plate severely worn. Not the actual friction surface but the metal spring housings and there was also a CRACK in the center plate :nono:.

But to make up for this i found a TODA lightened fly-wheel :woot:.

Fitted the new input shaft bearing and seal and also a new 5th gear bearing.

I took a bit of a gamble that a new OEM Honda clutch could handle the hike in torque. My old 250bhp dc2 was fine with OEM clutch so this should. I just couldn't put up with another heavy horrid feeling uprated clutch. No way was i going to put another EXCEDY in there :angry2:

Sorry for quoting an old post here but this is exactly what happened to my Exedy Clutch....

I will never have another - complete garbage - The torque spring casing was worse on mine and the spring was rubbing on my flywheel bolts.

OEM Honda clutch went in after that. I will find it hard to trust any other clutch disc.
