Well…Here it is…. After wanting to do this for ages I finally had the money and storage to do a shell swap, picked up a super clean EK9 shell off Jame Rowe without a spec of rust on it, After driving down to kent and towing it back to studley, We got to work.
(luckily for me) Si had been made redundant  but very kindly offered to come and work on the car all week while I was at work, then id go over and work on it all evening with him. Then over the weekend some other good friends came and helped aswell, then si returned on the Monday and Tuesday to come help me finish it off! Picked up the final parts (bumper, skirts, Grille, spoiler) of “Darkside” on Saturday and it was Finished
So… Here are the progress pics!
The Shell Arrives at the still very damp unit
Then the rest of the pics do most the talking! As the old one comes in and gets stripped down the new one starts to take shape
As we got down to the looms there was a massive issue, Basically the interior loom was OBD1, my engine loom was OBD2B, so had to buy an OBD2a Engine loom, Conversion Harness & New ECU, While picking up the new OBD2a Loom from Hond-R (thanks Maz you legendo) I got side tracked and bought some other goodies!
B16B Throttle Body & Injectors, AEM Fuel Rail, FPR & FPG, Skunk2 Intake Mani and a Hondata Thermal Gasket & DC2 Flywheel
And the problem solving loom
Then I pop over on my lunch break to see Si’s whipped the old engine out
While the engine was out we fitted a new clutch & all the new bits as my clutch was very nearly dead anyway!
Got the ‘9 All fresh and undersealed
Whipped the old Hubs / Suspension off mine & the 9 off as mine had shiny new disks & Painted calipers, New bearings etc
