How is the 17th edition exam chaps? ive got mine to do soon.

im a time served Electrical Engineer (HNC & SVQ) but not done our test yet. Im guessing its pretty easy?
 
Not to sure about doing it as a seperate exam, mine was as part of my FICA (final intergrated competence assesment) only written bit in my exam was multiple choice questions which you need to look up iee bs7671 regs for answers

It aint too bad alot of questions i got ask you to calcuate volt drop, minimum heights for cables overhead and location of switchgear so if you can find them in the regs book your sorted we got 1 hour to do it and was 30 questions (assuming your sitting same part as i did)

Yeah lad mostly domestic/commercial stuff we do also have contract wiring up heating sysems with scottish gas
 
Honestly man, Cannot wait

Its going into my unit until my MOt runs out on my beater and it will give me plenty of time to fit the mountain of new parts i have for it

See i passed all my exams including 16th edition a few years ago then they bring the 17th out :angry2:

Did you do the AM2 by any chance? Thats was quite hard. 10 hour practical exam. including fault diagnosis and fault rectification/testing + safe isolation.

Im mainly domestic, but have done a decent bit of commercial + industrial.

@Dunsy 17th is all about knowing how to use your REGS book. Some common sense and initiative.
