I finally have a mugen twinloop! Just a quick question for all you knowledgeable peoples, can i fit it straight on after taking the apexi n1 off? Will it fit perfect or will i need some fabrication or flanges or adapters or anything?

Thanks.

Fits direct to OEM mid pipe,
Use some exhaust sealant/assembly paste stuff :)
Bolts may be awkward to undo, but under this Honda happiness thing they are literally listing at 1P for each bolt, washer and nut.

should fit straight on dude, i fitted one to my EK4 years ago and it fitted straight onto the standard B pipe. it was an EK4 specific exhaust so if yours is the correct model for the car you shouldn't see any problems.

Good buy BTW congrats :nice:

Thanks guys. I am really looking forward to it after how highly everyone speaks of it. I like the apexi exhaust but my god it is just ridiculously loud. Hopefully it should be a straight forward job. If not i can get my brother to do it as he is a mechanic :)

Nice exhaust but more restrictive than std, you will probably lose performance but on a road car won't be an issue.

Bull ****. :blabla:

Few pipe bends are no way more restrictive than a complete stop then passing through a load of perforated tubes and chambers into another pipe to exit.

Cant remember ever seeing a thread or post about anybody loosing power after fitting a Twin loop over standard.

Yet another myth.

Knew I had seen it done somewhere. Over on ITR-DC2 a guy dyno'd his DC2 with no exhaust from manifold (No possible restriction) then with the twin loop fitted. Only lost 3hp peak which is faff all compared to no exhaust.

The Dyno dynamics my car went on must have been wrong then. I'll let the tuners know it needs recalibrating.

Making the exhaust go through a big loop is no doubt restrictive compared to a straight pipe system.
Also was the dynoed dc2 tuned to run with no exhaust? If not then i would of thought the tune wouldn't be ideal. Which would mean the numbers would suffer.
Either way the actual figures won't vary enough for you to notice the difference.

What was the results from your back 2 back dyno test ??

Yeah, interested to see the printout of your dyno runs. Ive never heard of a standard exhaust giving more power over a free flowing exhaust.

Oh man. Well ive just heard a lot of good reviews about it which is why i chose to get one. I would post pics of it but unfortunately im on a mobile phone at the moment and it doesnt let me upload pictures for some reason. Hopefully going to fit that exhaust on tomorrow and sell the apexi. Is it worth doing a dyno run on with the apexi and then with the mugen to see any difference?

twinloops are nice but not good for power gains

for the price they make id want a bit of a boost in power

This might be a mega stupid question but should i put exhaust paste around the flange bits of the exhaust when i connect it to my cat or is bolting it on enough?

yes if you dont have a gasket

but would be better to get a gasket rather than exhaust paste
