DSC_0443.jpg

This is epic. Looks ultra clean, would love to have the space or facility to do this to my car.

P.s liking the Rotax :) Do you race it?

Some serious work you've taken on there bud, one question though. Where are you gonna get all the random bolts and brackets ?

Right guys, sorry there hasnt been much up dates recently, been really busy and wasnt quite sure what i was doing with the car, but thats all sorted now!

Iv done a few things with the car:)

Basically iv made my own cage from scratch, painted alot of stuff, fitted all the rear arms ect, rebuild my rear brakes and welded the cage in :)

So ye..here goes.....

for ages the car sat like this

Fully build and designed my cage myself. It too more time than i first thought as working out bending angles and notching points isnt as easy as you would think, but nothing abit of maths cant sort out.

Welding the base plates in was horrible! no matter how hard i tried to get a nice looking weld i failed! and id say im quite good at welding and fab work, Used he mig for base plates also. All the welds have full penetration just not cosmetically pleasing

Epic work and some nice little items being fitted, love the look of the jpr bar!!

I'm loving this thread :) this is something I'd love to do, if I had the mechanical knowledge lmao, I bet it's amazing doing all the work yourself :D Can't wait to see it finished

This is going to be one clean car. Coming along nicely. Can't wait to see more. What type of red have you used to paint the front lower arms?

Awesome work on the cage! Something I reckon I could do if i had the mandrel bender

Thanks for the comments guys :) only got a tiny bit to sort out on the cage now.Need finish the engine off too now

The welds on the base plates looks to have gone on a bit hot to me mate. Might have been better to do a hot but fast first pass if you had it set up for a full pen weld then maybe a 2 run finish overlap to get a better look. As long as it's strong though looks aren't too important!
