Not the best picture but it is from this week's Autosport!! I managed to get a pic for my win in race 1 of the vtec challenge. I was second in race 2 after leading most of the way - pipped at the hairpin!

Well done mate. Always catches my Eye every time a pic of this EG pops up been dying to see it in action. Its the inspiration for my track EG.

What are the specs on it now?

Great news!! Is the car still b16b powered?

Well.........

it started life as a B16b, then went stock K20 for end of last season, then went B16b again for beginning of this season and has just gone K22 (fully forged cosworth build)

Its schitzophrenic I tell you!

The engine anything to do with ian at clockwise/clockwork/clock something? Dads engine.builder does alot of machining for him for the k series. Had the head from a k22 there recently that was making over 300bhp, very nice indeed.

Yes Ian at Clockwisemotion. yes he used to use Pete who had a very large deck grinder for skimming the darton blocks (he has his own now)

Great win mate seems like there a lot goin on with vtec challenge which is great

but makes me wonder why they won't accept a turbo build into vtec challenge sayin to unfair to n/a as its a budget race series, I am sure a k22 ain't a cheap option an a turbo offers similar power gains to a big n/a build for average Joe's who don't have loads to spend or a company who know there stuff , not a dig just my two pence as I really love sein this series

so it seems like b16b is very slow and not competitive in any race series :D

that's fast :O what power this is running? what gearbox? As i see the weight of this is beast is about 700kg? :)

pretty handy isn't it?

just had a gander at his build thread...

935Kg w/ driver at his last weigh
216.8hp and 147.5ft-lb
S9B box with a quaiffe gearset

engine spec...
Full Spec is:

B16A Block
B16A Balanced Crank
Carrilo Pro A-Beam Rods
CP X-Style 9cc Pistons
P72 Head
Brian Crower Springs & Retainers
Brian Crower Stage 2 Cams
Jenvey SF ITB's
AAS 2.25" Custom Exhaust System.

Some impressive specs for a good old B16A. :nice:

Seems like a difficult choice to make as to what engine/class to use. Spend the money on tuning a B16 or B18, Or spend the money and convert to a standard H22 or K20 least then if it pops you can just replace the motor and stay competative.
