What have you beaten in your ek9?


my mate has cyborg and he says it struggles against a vti

one of the most fun i had was a focus st, he pulled a little better after up at the top end, then corners started appearing and the focus started disappearing! :drive:

I was just wondering if anyone has had any encounters with a Mitsubishi Colt Cyborg ZR. This is similar to the EK9 with its 1.6 MIVEC engine producing 175 Bhp. My friend has one and I'd love to know if and when I finally get a '9 that its up to the "Job". I know the EK9 has more power, But, and its a bit BUT, the Cyborg has more Torque. So I would be interested to know how people have compared with this car ?

theese cars are overrated big time had 2 of theese in me old car an ae111 levin bzr and my 9 would piss all over me levin

Was racing a colt mivec one night and he lead turning out on the road and when we both went for it I nearly ran in to the back of him soon as I hit vtec LOL so defiantly aint quick at all

Till about 100MPH the EK9 will hold its own with the astra but after that think it will have more power....

Well I came across one in my 275hp Starlet and it was fast. Not fast enough obviously ;)

But it went OK. Maybe it had a remap?
 
yeah they say you get the basic maps to bring to around 230BHP or around that much anyway so it could have had that quite easily....

Dont get me wrong i think it will be pretty close but will have it ive got full confidance the EK9.....
 
it has 240bhp standard, so mapped im sure its more than 230 ;)

Haha! Man I still love the "Borg" but that statement makes me want an EK9 so much more! Have to wait until June when im 21 :( (Insurance & Monay).

I raced my cousins 2000 audi S4 (AWD 250hp bi turbo) at pomona raceway back in 2000 w/ my 2000 civic Si(160 hp) w/ only AEM cai. I beat him by tenths of a sec. it was his 1st time to race w/ a tree. I cant forgot when i saw the look in his face "PRICELESS"!!!!!! He was making up all these excuses, it was a hot day too around 100 degrees. I know, if it was a good driver he would definetly have beaten me. You will just be surprised on what happens at the track. Totally different. My eyes were opened.
Theres really no way an ek9 w/ just mostly bolt ons would beat 250 hp cars unless they got some engine problems or some bov leaks, etc. I experienced the bov leak on my evo 7 & it just vented to the atmosphere & wasnt going fast as it should be.
 
Cars ive beaten....... *thinking*..... MK4 Golf GTi, MR2 Turbo, Starlet Turbo (200bhp), Some other cars and a Lambo Murciolargo (dont no currect spelling) On the M5 Southbound, I have vid to proove it as well.

What car have you got with what power to beat a lambo?
 
ok ok, i wasnt really 'racing' it, i caught it up on the M5 and it caught up in traffic. it pulled away from me and got caught again. then it pulled over to let me past. He waved as well, lol. Im driving a 1.6 vti-s

It was my mate, he cant drive it at nite time properly and i had more of a run up. It was on the A449 heading towards worcester. Anyway, he says that its 200bhp
 
come on people, only mention cars that you have raced fairly. As in both side by side and plant it same time....
